We are working with a leading engineering organisation specialising in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) solutions, delivering decentralised energy projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee CHP installations from concept through to commissioning.
You will take full ownership of CHP projects, managing the complete lifecycle from initial planning through to final handover. This role requires strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and leadership capability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring objectives, timelines, and budgets are achieved
Manage and coordinate engineers, contractors, and subcontractors throughout execution and commissioning
Review engineering designs to ensure feasibility, safety, and alignment with project requirements
Act as the primary client contact, maintaining clear communication on milestones and progress
Coordinate civil works including site preparation, foundations, and infrastructure
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures
Develop and manage project schedules using Microsoft Projects
Identify and mitigate project risks proactively
Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, health & safety, environmental and quality standards
Provide regular reporting to senior management on performance and KPIs
About You
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum 5+ years’ Project Management experience, ideally within CHP or power generation
Strong understanding of CHP systems and associated electrical, mechanical, and civil works
Proficient in Microsoft Projects (experience with AutoCAD or Revit advantageous)
Commercially aware with experience in budgeting and financial control
Strong leadership and contractor management experience
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Analytical problem-solver with a proactive, delivery-focused mindset
Familiar with CDM 2015 regulations and construction compliance standards
