Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade C - Birmingham)

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor ready to take the next step in your career. As a Grade C Solicitor in our Clinical Negligence team, you will support Lawyers and Senior Lawyers managing a diverse caseload of clinical negligence cases from inception to trial, working under supervision and in accordance with company policies and legal standards.

Accountable For
* Run an individual caseload
* Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
* Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
* Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs
* Ensure effective and thorough time recording
Responsible For
* Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
* Identify and drive cases ready for settlement or service within the team
* Work with the team to ensure relevant information is aggregated for case progression
* Manage a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
* Coordinate progression of cases with internal and external parties
* Draft legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction
* Negotiate settlements and issue and service proceedings as required
* Litigate claims as required
* Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team
* Advise the team on technical issues arising from cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department
Ideal Candidate
* Recent experience of handling a caseload
* At least NQ‑5 years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and drafting skills
* Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
* Ability to coach and mentor junior team members
* Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
* Excellent client care skills
