UHCW NHS Trust - Apprentice Occupational Therapist
UHCW NHS Trust is seeking an Apprentice Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Therapy department.
Role Overview
This development role involves attending university to complete an Occupational Therapy degree while working as a Therapy Assistant. It provides an opportunity to gain clinical skills and knowledge in preparation for becoming a registered Occupational Therapist.
Progression and Banding
1. Initially, you will start as a Therapy Technician (Band 3).
2. Midway through your course, there will be an opportunity to transition into a Band 4 role, offering greater autonomy and a higher level of responsibility.
3. Upon completing your degree, you will qualify as a registered Occupational Therapist and transition into a Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapy position.
University Options
The university attended will depend on the successful candidate, with options including Coventry, Derby, and Northampton.

This apprenticeship combines academic learning with work-based training, involving placements in various settings to ensure a comprehensive understanding of health and care contexts.
Competencies and Progression
You will work towards Band 3 Therapy Competencies, and upon completion, progress to Band 4 competencies, with corresponding pay adjustments.
Service Placement
The apprentice will work within the Inpatient Therapy service as a Therapy Technician while attending university, working towards a BSc level 6 Occupational Therapy qualification. Upon qualification, a B5 Rotational Occupational Therapist position will be offered.
