The Skye and Lochalsh Integrated Health & Social Care Team has a vacancy for a Social Worker in its busy Portree and Broadford offices. The Team works closely with nursing and mental health professionals to provide a multidisciplinary and integrated service in a beautiful but remote and rural setting.
Responsibilities
* Support vulnerable adults and their families and carers.
* Work with clients using a person‑centred approach.
* Operate within relevant legislation, including the Adult Support and Protection, Adults with Incapacity and Mental Health Acts.
* Collaborate with other NHS professionals to provide a multidisciplinary framework for interventions.
* Conduct assessments and write reports.
* Arrange care packages, with the client’s consent, to meet assessed needs.
* Deliver services to adults living within a large remote and rural geographical area and manage the challenges that may arise.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council on the ‘Social worker’ part of the register.
* Hold a qualification recognised by the SSSC as equivalent to the Diploma in Social Work (DipSW).
* Newly qualified social workers or those about to qualify will also be considered.
* A driving licence is essential due to the rural nature of the area; applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.
* Flexible working is encouraged; application for part‑time or job share will also be considered. Accommodation assistance may be available.
