Job location: Larne. Salary: £29,400 + (depending on experience).
What You Will Do
* Support preparation and submission of GB and NI export customs submissions to HMRC using in-house duty management system, CM-UK.
* Demonstrate a level of technical analysis for business reporting purposes and review the outputs for reasonableness and accuracy before submission to the relevant government bodies.
* Support development of standard operating procedures (SOP), processes and controls in accordance with enterprise requirements, changing trade guidance, and business needs.
* Ensure timely delivery of products according to set deadlines, maintaining effective communication and satisfactory service levels with dealers.
* Perform regular self-governance audits on export paperwork.
* Advocate an awareness of customs throughout the business through the provision of training, general support and guidance.
* Monitor third party performance in relation to agreed customs compliance expectations.
* Support with other ad hoc activities.
What You Will Have
A degree in a comparative business-related discipline or extensive relative skills (as outlined below) with ability to demonstrate practical standard of competence in customs compliance.
International Trade - Level Working Knowledge
* Knowledge of international supply chain processes including incoterms and origin.
* Experience of importing and exporting procedures.
* An understanding of the potential impact of Brexit on a UK based business.
Analytical Thinking - Level Working Knowledge
* Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.
* Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of customs and business-related data and arrive at conclusions.
Managing Multiple Priorities - Level Working Knowledge
* Ensures the preparation and submission of UK and NI Customs reporting to HMRC is within the month end reporting time frame.
* Recognizes changing demands and priorities; validates changes with management.
* Responds to day-to-day operational priorities while still making progress on project work. Performs at least 2-3 concurrent activities without reducing productivity.
Effective Communications - Level Working Knowledge
* Ability to communicate effectively and timely with internal and external stakeholders and ensure the message is clear and understood.
Top Candidates Will Have
* Experience of SAP order to cash, procure to pay and record to report cycles.
* Familiar with Windsor Framework customs procedures.
* Familiar with Customs compliance workbooks and associated self-audit processes.
