Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Gardener/Maintenance Assistant (20 hours a week) to join our team in maintaining the grounds of our estate. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and a keen eye for detail.
Duties:
* Use hand tools and power tools to cultivate and maintain gardens
* Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, weeding, pruning, and watering
* Grow and nurture plants, flowers, and trees
* Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, and fertilising
* Implement irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants
* Keep garden areas clean and organised
* Performing minor repairs to fixtures, furniture, and building systems, such as fixing leaks, changing lightbulbs, and replacing hardware.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in grounds keeping and garden maintenance
* Knowledge of plant care techniques and horticulture practices
* Ability to operate both hand tools and power tools effectively
* Strong attention to detail and a passion for gardening
* Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions
* Knowledge of common carpentry, plumbing, and decorating tasks
