Job Title: Senior Town Planner

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and forward-thinking planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their growing team.
With offices based in Manchester and Leeds, this dynamic consultancy delivers a wide and interesting range of projects across the UK. Their portfolio spans residential, commercial, education, retail & leisure, hospitality, and a variety of other exciting sectors, offering the successful candidate excellent exposure to diverse and high-quality work.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to take on greater responsibility and play a key role in project delivery, client management, and mentoring junior team members within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and managing planning applications and appeals
Providing strategic planning advice to a diverse client base
Managing projects across multiple sectors from inception to completion
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Mentoring and supporting junior planners
Engaging with stakeholders, consultants, and local authoritiesThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A relevant planning degree (or equivalent)
MRTPI status (or close to achieving)
Strong experience within a consultancy or local authority setting
Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills
