Job Title: Assessor for Early Years and Teaching Assistants Department: Health and Social Care Salary: £33,302 - £36,376 Job Type: Full time, 35 hours per week, permanent We are looking for a fully qualified experienced assessor for our Childcare and Teaching Assistant programs: To monitor and support learners through all aspects of work placement experience both in college and in school/childcare settings. To provide supportive, reliable and fair assessment opportunities to learners on College and employer sites To work with teaching staff delivering the program and support in the assessment of students on level 2 and 3 courses. To safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults who are students of the College Key Responsibilities Liase with Nurseries and Schools regarding arrangements for placement for students and completion of assessments both in college and on placement. Ensure all learners are allocated a work placement in line with college and awarding body requirements Visit learners on placement – monitor progress and feedback to Lecturers and Progress Coach Check learners’ attendance on placement on a weekly basis using GROFAR Keep records and liaise with Progress Coach, Lecturers, Heads of School and Directors as required In conjunction with lecturing team, deliver knowledge of outcomes/assessment criteria to all learners however this is not a teaching role. Develop and conduct assessments to accurately measure learners performance and understanding Maintain records of all assessment and verification activities using the standard systems set by the College Carry out review/monitoring visits in accordance with the Exam boards requirements Engage with quality assurance procedures, including the preparation of information and statistics as required by line managers to ensure that standards are met and learners experience the highest quality learning Promote the college to employers Attend Team meetings To assist in the identification of all risks which could damage the reputation and financial viability of the college/directorate/division. To contribute to the identification of appropriate risk control measures and the implementation of these measures Carry out any other duties as deemed appropriate by the line manager Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential: Recognised UK Level 3 Assessor Qualifications Experience working in a UK education Setting assessing Early Years/ and or Teaching Assistant Qualifications. Desirable: Educated to Level 6 e.g. Degree or equivalent in a health or science subject A recognised Teaching qualification or substantial vocational experience Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues and for themselves Experience of resource-based learning Experience of developing remote and online based learning and materials Membership of a relevant professional body Experience of assessing students’ needs and planning curriculum for their benefit including Technology Enhanced Learning Good understanding of curriculum development to meet the training needs of employers Good understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes Experience assessing T Level Education and Early Years Qualifications.
