Under broad direction, assists with design, research, and development of new applications and major enhancements. Provides guidance to developers, testers, and support staff. Using an understanding of technological advances in both the software industry and the oil and gas industry, this person challenges the technical software delivery process to deliver fit-for-purpose software more timely. This person will have experience leading software development projects and may provide Technical Excellence Leadership for multiple teams, offering expert guidance to software developers and support staff. They will advise staff on application security standards, secure coding practices, and secure architecture designs. The role requires a strong technical focus in product planning for a complete software system. A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline and at least 10 years of experience in software development are required.
* Lead the team to deliver new products, features, and fixes iteratively using an Agile Scrum approach, collaborating with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Developers, and QAs.
* Work with architects and other developers to provide technical input to the Product Owner.
* Act as the first point of escalation to remove impediments, ensuring development velocity and achievement of sprint goals.
* Communicate and escalate issues clearly and promptly.
* Manage the team, including daily operations and career development for team members.
* This is a hands-on role, actively participating in development work.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant existing and emerging technologies.
* Collaborate with remote teams worldwide.
