We’re Hiring: Synthetic Training Operator – Ex‑Royal Navy (AWT / Above Water Warfare)
Location: HMS Collingwood
Working Pattern: 07:30–16:30 (typically finishing around 15:30 up to 3 days/week)

We’re looking for former Royal Navy professionals with AWT (Above Water Warfare Tactical) or Above Water Warfare experience—particularly those who have worked directly in the Operations Room—to join us as a Synthetic Training Operator within the state‑of‑the‑art Maritime Composite Training System (MCTS) at HMS Collingwood.

The Role
As a Synthetic Training Operator (STO), you’ll play a key part in supporting Team Fisher’s delivery of world‑class maritime warfare training to the Royal Navy.
You will:
* Deliver realistic, high‑fidelity simulated warfare scenarios within
* Warfare Team Trainers (WTTs), Classroom‑Based Simulation Trainers (CBSTs) and Electronic Classroom Trainers (ECTs)
* Work within the Common Synthetic Environment Control (CSEC) room to bring training scenarios to life
* Provide cues, prompts and stimuli that help instructors drive meaningful student reactions to simulated warfare events
* Help create immersive scenarios reflecting real RN drills, procedures and Ops Room communications
* Prepare and configure simulators
* Support data collection, system checks and training admin
* Assist instructors at MWS (Collingwood) and FOST (Devonport) to deliver effective, realistic training
* Observe and report on system performance to support ongoing training system improvement
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from ex‑Royal Navy personnel with:
* General working knowledge of RN surface ship sensors and weapon systems
* Experience with at least one RN Command System (preferably DNA2 or CMS)
* Solid understanding of RN Operations Room Action Information Organisation (AIO)
* Confidence supporting instructors and students using simulation training systems
* A flexible, proactive approach and strong teamwork skills
