We have an exciting vacancy in our Kent and Medway Hub for a Behaviour and Education Support role.
We are an Alternative Provision school in North Kent with an outstanding reputation for developing skilled professionals into exceptional practitioners.
We are looking for a Behaviour & Education Support worker who can help our students take the first steps on a life-changing journey. Do you understand mental health triggers and can you find the right supportive strategies? Can you provide stability and security to help young people overcome mental health challenges? Can you motivate young people to re-engage with their studies and remind them of the importance of learning? Do you possess excellent de-escalation skills?
The ideal candidate will:
* Understand that behaviour is a symptom that needs to be understood and addressed, ensuring that learning time is maximized
* Have awareness of SEMH needs and appreciate the role of education in supporting these needs, enabling class teachers to focus on their lessons
* Recognize the impact of mental health on young people's success in education and the barriers it can create
* Believe in the potential of our students and feel responsible for supporting them, fostering positivity and securing their learning
* Be proactive and solution-focused, rather than reactive
* Maintain professionalism and set a positive example for colleagues
* Understand the importance of teamwork in providing opportunities, experiences, and success for students
* Have a creative and flexible approach to working with young people, even in challenging circumstances
* Be willing to liaise with and meet parents, including having difficult conversations about behaviour
* Be capable of completing administrative tasks efficiently and competently
* Desire to grow and develop in this role
