Job Title: Shift Lead (Electrically Biased)
Location:Watford
Salary: GBP 51,000 : GBP 55,000 (inclusive of shift allowance)
Shift Pattern: Continental Shift : 4 days on, 6 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off, 6 days on (3 days/3 nights). Minimum of 2 weekends off per month.
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and electrically biased Shift Lead to join our team at the CapitaLand Data Centre in Watford. This is a hands:on, client:facing role suited to a professional with strong technical capabilities and a solid background in critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
: Lead and oversee daily operations within the data centre environment
: Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
: Ensure the site remains compliant with all relevant health and safety standards
: Respond to and resolve technical issues and emergency situations
: Supervise and support on:site engineers and contractors
: Participate in and support HV switching operations (training available if not already qualified)
: Support the Account Manager with reporting and technical documentation
Requirements:
: Essential:
: Proven experience in a data centre or other critical environment
: Electrically biased with relevant qualifications (e.g., City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
: Strong knowledge of building services and systems (UPS, HVAC, fire suppression, generators)
: Excellent problem:solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
: Desirable:
: High Voltage (HV) qualification (preferred but not essential : training will be provided post:probation)
: Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
