About the Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with an individual student, tailoring your support to their specific learning needs and helping them overcome challenges in their educational journey.
Responsibilities:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs (SEN), learning difficulties, or additional learning needs.
* Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
* Implement individual learning strategies under the guidance of the teacher and SENCO.
* Offer emotional and social support to promote confidence and independence.
* Use positive behaviour management techniques to encourage engagement and progress.
* Adapt resources and teaching materials to support individual learning styles.
* Liaise with teachers, SEN professionals, and parents to monitor progress and share updates.
* Support the student with daily routines, transitions, and classroom expectations.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working in a 1:1 role or as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Support Worker.
* Understanding of SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, or Learning Disabilities.
* A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to working with children.
* Ability to differentiate learning activities to meet individual needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
