You would be based in our Leeds office. Our clients are varied and widespread throughout the UK, and we offer flexible working arrangements.
We are looking for collaborative and motivated Senior Building Safety Consultants to deliver a high-quality service for our clients. Our Building Safety Assurance service focuses on assisting designers with the Building Regulations Principal Designer role (in-house and for our clients) and helping clients comply with their duties.
Your Purpose
* Advising and assisting clients and in-house teams in fulfilling their responsibilities under the Building Regulations 2010 (As Amended) and the Building Safety Act 2022.
* Delivering the Building Regulations Principal Designer function for clients as set out in the Building Regulations 2010 (As Amended).
* Reviewing building regulations compliance in design and working with designers to develop practical solutions in line with legislation and best practice.
* Undertaking a wide range of Building Safety Consultancy duties in line with agreed service deliverables.
* Undertaking building regulation compliance audits and site inspections to ensure compliance is achieved.
* Reviewing building regulation submission packages, conducting gap analyses, and plan appraisals to identify missing information required for building regulation approval.
* Possibility to deliver building regulation compliance training (internal and external).
* Learning and applying quality assurance principles.
* Keeping up to date with relevant legislative and best practice changes.
What You Can Bring
* Strong background interpreting and applying the building regulations and associated secondary legislation relating to projects, with a good understanding of the technical and functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010.
* Sound technical Building Regulations knowledge combined with an understanding of design and construction, capable of delivering a solutions-focused service.
* Excellent stakeholder-facing skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
* Proactive attitude and willingness to seek guidance from senior colleagues when needed.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software packages.
* Professional demeanor and outlook.
* Ability to manage a portfolio of projects concurrently.
* Relevant professional chartership/accreditation (CABE, CIOB, RICS).
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Building Safety/ building regulations compliance/design compliance role.
* Demonstrable understanding of construction and design.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
