Health & Safety Advisor Salary Role Overview
* The Health & Safety Advisor will promote health and safety awareness. Monitor safety related functions, including risk assessment and safe working practices. Assist and engage with colleagues to ensure compliance with health, safety & welfare obligations in relation to legal requirements, BS EN 45001 and other regulatory bodies.
* You will be office based around 30%-40% of the time, with the rest of time spent on other company sites.
Candidate Requirements
* You will hold a NEBOSH Construction certificate.
* Proven Health and Safety expertise within the construction industry, specifically site safety and risk management.
* Experience of improving H&S awareness and behaviours.
* Strong verbal and written communication to facilitate open communication across the regions.
* A strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in investigations and reports.
* Willingness to travel to other company UK sites.
Health & Safety Advisor Salary Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
* The Health & Safety Advisor will prepare and undertake audits and workplace inspections of all company operations to identify where health & safety management practices can be improved and to provide written guidance where necessary, to assist the Company in implementing solutions to enhance its health and safety performance. Record as required and raise non-conformance reports where necessary. Monitor corrective action close-out.
* Liaise with regional managers, clients, principal contractors and site agents during visits, inspections, and investigations to ensure safety issues identified are dealt with and satisfactorily closed out.
* Prepare H&S reports and statistical/performance data and present as required. Carry out root cause analysis for occurrences and provide guidance for proposed corrective actions.
* Investigate reports of accidents, incidents and near misses, assist in the establishing root cause, and provide corrective action recommendations. Ensure the Internal Reporting and BeSafe Group Reporting databases are maintained with supporting documents from the resulting investigations.
* Review RAMS and work instruction documents in accordance with company management system procedures. Assist employees in carrying out risk assessments and documenting procedures.
* Carry out HAVS and Noise Exposure Monitoring as required. Provide advice based on the findings.
* Ensure Fire Arrangements are maintained, fire drills are carried out on all areas of the company and liaise with emergency services as necessary, regarding emergency procedures, communications, and fire safety
