We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Underley Gardens School, working collaboratively with the education team to deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, guiding your practice within an education setting and clarifying your roles and responsibilities.
Role details
Location: Underley Gardens School, Kirkby Lonsdale, Lancashire LA6 2DZ
Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience). Note: basic grade SALT from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+, and Highly Specialist from £48,000+.
Hours: 24 hours per week, 3 days per week, 8.30am – 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances).
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention in an education setting.
* Collaborate with education teams to create environments where pupils can flourish and grow in independence.
* Work within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working to guide practice and clarify roles.
* Support the growth of apprentices, students, and therapy assistants as part of developing an enhanced speech and language therapy offer.
* Utilise opportunities for research projects, special interest groups, and participation in a broader SLT network for training and development.
* Benefit from a £2,000 training allowance to complete role-specific training after probation, supporting CPD goals.
Qualifications and experience
* Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (UK or equivalent).
* Experience delivering SLT services within educational settings is preferred.
* Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to pupils with trauma, SEMH, or neurodivergent needs.
