Description Are you looking for a varied and rewarding role where you are an integral part of the team ensuring delivery of vital support payments to agricultural and rural businesses? Rural Payments and Services is delivered by the Scottish Government’s Rural Payments and Inspections Division (RPID), with delivery partners. RPID is the accredited paying agency in Scotland. We have around 600 staff in 17 area offices throughout Scotland providing a range of services – some in the office covering administration and developing policy, others out in the field updating maps or conducting inspections. Our key responsibilities include: Payment of Common Agricultural Policy scheme grants and subsidies which totals approximately £650m per annum. Inspection of agricultural land and livestock to ensure compliance with regulations. Plant health inspections, including the certification of seed potatoes and seed cereals. This role is predominantly, but not exclusively, responsible for the co-ordination and management of the Single Application Form (SAF) and Less Favoured Support Scheme (LFASS) within the RPID Grampian Area Offices. Responsibilities Co-ordination of the SAF and LFASS schemes in the Grampian offices (Inverurie and Elgin) providing support and training to front line staff at all stages of claim processing from application through to payment. Liaising with Pillar 1 (Direct Payments) and Pillar 2 (LFASS/AECS/FGS/RP) scheme teams to address payment blockers and resolve complex cases. Communicating directly with external stakeholders including answering customer and agent queries and supporting customers with the submission of Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 applications. Supporting staff and customers through the implementation of ARP changes which directly impact SAF including the introduction of the Whole Farm Plan and changes to Cross Compliance regulations. Qualifications Qualifications Valid driving licence which enables you to drive in the UK - Please confirm in your CV/Personal Statement that you hold this qualification. Success Profile Success profiles are specific to each job and they include the mix of skills, experience and behaviours candidates will be assessed on. Experience: Demonstrate a thorough and full knowledge of the Single Application Form scheme which includes all aspects of claim processing from application submission through to payment. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the LFASS scheme and it’s importance to Scottish agricultural. Ability to extract and interrogate data to identify payment blockers, resolve processing issues and monitor payment progress.
