We are partnering with a long‑established merchandise and apparel solutions provider to recruit this role on their behalf. The business has nearly 25 years’ experience creating high‑quality merchandise collections for clients across multiple sectors. They deliver an end‑to‑end service—from design, production and quality control through to sales & marketing support and worldwide distribution—and, through specialist production expertise and long‑standing manufacturer partnerships, they consistently achieve upromising quality and on‑time delivery.
Your new role
As Business Development Manager, you will identify and secure newmercial opportunities and drive growth across new sectors to agreed strategic targets. You will champion exceptional customer service and ensure programmes are delivered to meet stakeholder requirements.
Core responsibilities include:
1. Growing and developing new business in target sectors while supporting existing customers to expand the client base
2. Leading negotiations with prospective clients on financial objectives and business requirements, working closely with the senior management team
3. Contributing to the development of thepany’s overallmercial strategy
4. Collaborating with related business divisions to unlock joint opportunities
5. Initiating and managing robust, accurate proposals in response to client enquiries
6. Acting as the first point of contact for existing and potential clients, maintaining regular reporting andmunication
7. Ensuring business plans align with cash‑flow requirements
8. Assisting with budgeting and forecasting of sales and margins
9. Providing market insight and feedback to the executive leadership team
10. Supporting presence at shows and exhibitions in line with the marketing strategy
11. Providing dynamic, hands‑on leadership as part of the management team
What you'll need to succeed
You’ll bring proven experience as a Business Development Manager (or similar) with a track record of selling into high‑value accounts and negotiating annual contracts/programmes. You must have prior experience and knowledge of the clothing/merchandise industry. You are a self‑starter, highly results‑focused,mercially astute, andfortable travelling internationally when required. Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, proposal development, and financial literacy (budgeting/forecasting) are essential.
