The Opportunity
We seek an experienced Senior Front End Developer to join our talented team. You will explore new technologies, influence our ways of working, and champion best practices. You will learn from colleagues and contribute your ideas to innovate and improve our solutions. We support skill development and value new ideas for delivering modern software solutions.
We want someone passionate about front-end technologies, with an eye for design and a focus on how things look on screen. You should have experience creating high-quality, responsive layouts with smooth interactions, transitions, and animations, working closely with design and development teams to produce award-winning solutions.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
* Implement web applications with the Front End Development team and integrate with Back End components
* Develop and maintain code standards for the Front End team
* Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure a seamless user experience
* Advise on and promote best UI/UX practices in design
* Optimize web applications for speed and scalability
* Work with project managers to meet timelines and budgets
* Review code and provide constructive feedback
* Stay updated on emerging front-end trends and technologies
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members
About You
You don’t need to meet all criteria to apply, but most of the following will help:
You should be a strong communicator, problem-solver, analytical thinker, and team-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
Required Technical Skills:
* Experience with JS frameworks like Vue, React, or Angular
* Knowledge of UI accessibility standards (AA and AAA)
* Experience setting up task runners and build tools like Webpack or Gulp
* Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
* Experience integrating front-end with CMS platforms like Umbraco, Kentico, or Sitecore
* Understanding of front-end architecture related to these technologies
* Experience working in a Windows environment
The following skills are a plus but not essential:
* Knowledge of component-based or atomic design patterns
* Experience with automated testing, Node.js, or TypeScript
* Experience with Storybook, Docker
* Implementing Core Web Vitals / Lighthouse recommendations
This role can be fully remote (UK-based) or based near one of our offices (Bristol, London, Lancaster). Occasional in-person meetings are expected.
