Are you an experienced accountant looking for a new challenge in a dynamic, multicultural environment? We are seeking a skilled German speaking accountant to join international team based in London - Westminster (hybrid work). This is an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate group of professionals in the conference and event industry. This is a 6 month FTC with a great opportunity to become permanent for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you'll be a key contributor to our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight across our global business. Your responsibilities will include:
Generating weekly financial summaries for management
Managing transactions in multiple currencies
Preparing and filing monthly VAT returns and German VAT compliance
Reconciling bank and credit card statements
Handling accruals, provisions, and prepayments independently
Supporting month-end closings and annual financial statements (HGB)
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects
About you
We're looking for someone who is analytical, self-motivated, and fluent in both numbers and communication:
At least 5 years of experience in accounting
Solid understanding of general ledger and sub-ledger systems
Familiarity with German VAT rules and inter-company processes
Strong Excel skills and openness to learning new tools
Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently
