Overview
Leonardo Future Combat Air (FCA) is seeking a Digital Engineering Integration Systems Engineer to help deliver and integrate Digital Engineering/Digital Thread enabling capabilities for the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) Design and Development phase.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Digital Engineering Product Owner and stakeholders to agree User Needs/Use Cases for Digital Engineering Capabilities in line with the Digital Engineering Strategy for GCAP.
* Decompose User Needs into Digital Engineering Enabling Capabilities and ensure alignment with GCAP and internal Leonardo Digital Engineering Capability Roadmaps for integrated product development.
* Create a target state vision for the Digital Engineering Environment and Thread, including PLM/ALM modernization, Model‑Based Engineering and connected engineering ecosystems.
* Represent Leonardo as subject‑matter expert; support industry engagement and liaise with partners on Digital Engineering topics and future ways of working.
* Plan proof‑of‑concept and proof‑of‑value demonstrations to confirm new Digital Engineering services meet timing and cost goals.
* Plan, manage requirements and deployment to integrate Digital Engineering Capabilities into GCAP.
* Support project implementation with Digital Engineering Enabler teams and deliver capabilities systematically.
* Trial and demonstrate benefits of Digital Engineering capabilities and provide feedback to improve usability and quality of Digital Engineering Environments and Threads.

* Technical expertise and management experience on Defence programmes.
* Knowledge of Digital Engineering/Digital Threads and Digital Twins.
* Understanding of financial management and program impacts.
* Customer‑facing experience.
* Experience interacting with senior external personnel on significant engineering matters.
* Understanding of how Leonardo UK delivers engineering.
* Experience across all lifecycle phases: development, manufacture and support.
