A typical day in the life of a Events Manager:
? Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, schedules, and logistics for each event, ensuring all aspects are well-organised and executed.
? Coordinate with internal teams (kitchen, front-of-house, housekeeping) and external vendors (caterers, decorators, AV technicians) to ensure smooth event delivery.
? Conduct client meetings to understand event requirements and tailor the event experience accordingly.
? Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction from initial inquiry through to post-event follow-up.
? Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to inquiries, managing client expectations, and resolving any issues or concerns that arise.
? Identify and pursue new event business opportunities, including corporate meetings, weddings, parties, and conferences, to maximise venue utilisation and revenue.
? Collaborate with the marketing team to promote Bannatyne's event offerings through digital marketing, social media, and local networking.
? Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure all documentation is accurately completed and filed.
? Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of events, ensuring all elements are in place and operations run smoothly.
? Act as the primary point of contact during events, coordinating with staff and vendors to ensure all client expectations are met.
? Monitor event budgets, ensuring all costs are controlled and financial targets are met.
? Conduct post-event evaluations to gather client feedback, identify areas for improvement, and ensure continual enhancement of event services.
? Prepare reports on event performance, including financial outcomes, client satisfaction, and areas for growth.
? Lead and motivate the events team, providing clear direction, training, and support to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
? Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for events and manage any freelance or temporary staff as needed.
What we are looking for:
? Proven experience as an Event Manager or in a similar role, with a track record of successfully planning and executing a variety of events.
? Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client relationship management and team collaboration.
? Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify and capitalise on business opportunities.
? Good understanding of event logistics, budget management, and health and safety regulations.
? Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
? Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
It would be desirable if you had a Degree or diploma in Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field. It would also be advantageous if you had experience with event management software and CRM systems and First Aid and Health & Safety certifications.
