Business Development Manager (Pathway to Head of Sales)
Location: South East (inside M25) + Sevenoaks office presence
Salary: £45,000–£55,000 + OTE £70,000–£90,000+ (Uncapped)

Our client, a leading organisation in a specialist services sector, is hiring a Business Development Manager to drive immediate revenue growth and build a scalable sales function from the ground up.
This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of the sales journey — from generating leads and closing deals, through to shaping the future sales strategy and team. For the right individual, there is a clear pathway to Head of Sales within 12 months.
What you’ll do
* Generate new business opportunities through proactive outreach and networking
* Build and manage your own pipeline, converting leads into revenue from day one
* Meet clients across the South East (primarily within the M25)
* Deliver quick wins in the first 3–6 months to establish commercial momentum
* Take ownership of sales processes, laying the foundations for CRM and structure
You’ll work closely with senior leadership to shape the commercial direction, with autonomy to define how success is achieved.
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in business development or field sales roles
* Track record of winning new business and hitting revenue targets
* Experience in KPI-driven or contract-led sectors (e.g. fire safety, maintenance, services)
* Ability to engage both enterprise-level clients and smaller opportunities
* Comfortable working independently and building processes from scratch
The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset, with the confidence to operate at senior levels while still driving day-to-day activity. You’ll enjoy being out in the field, building relationships, and taking ownership of results.
