Sap Hana Administrator - Birmingham Job / role title: SAP HANA Administrator Reporting to: Enterprise Support & Security Vulnerability Team Leader Direct reports: No Location: Parklands, Birmingham Primary responsibilities: The SAP HANA Administrator role purpose is to lifecycle manage the Linux services in use to enable the business to achieve its business objectives and strategic plans. The main duties of the role are: Administer, manage, and maintain SAP HANA databases. Perform database tuning and performance monitoring. Support backup and recovery operations. Provide support and guidance to the SAP team. Resolve database performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other data-related issues. Ensure compliance with database vendor license agreements. Incident and Problem resolution Project and Security Compliance tasks Dimensions: The role is based at the Parklands office, Birmingham but may involve travel to other Compass sites and third party suppliers. Key performance standards / competencies / skills Skills/experience Essential/ desirable Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a SAP HANA Administrator Essential Strong background in database administration Essential Proficiency in database management, tuning, backup, and recovery Essential Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot database issues Essential Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the SAP team and other stakeholders Essential Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies Essential High level of technical competence. Essential Good knowledge of the ITIL framework Essential Skilled in database automation and scripting. Essential Strong technical documentation skills with ability to summarise technical issues or proposals in non-technical language when required. Essential Good understanding of technical problem management being able to apply logical component failure analysis to ensure efficient and timely resolution of issues.
