* Actual Salary: £21,928-£22,628 per annum
We are seeking an Art & Design Technician to support the day-to-day operation of both creative A-Level and Vocational courses at One Sixth Form College. The role involves maintaining and organising tools, materials, and consumables, ensuring that studios and workshops are safe, well-equipped, and ready for use. A sound understanding of health and safety regulations within creative environments is essential, along with experience in monitoring stock levels and assisting with procurement processes. The technician will work closely with other technicians, teachers, and students, providing practical support, technical guidance, and troubleshooting to enable learners to realise creative intentions.
The successful candidate will have experience working within a visual arts context, and be familiar with related traditional processes, such as painting, printmaking, ceramics/3D, and textiles. Competencies with digital design and media software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro is desirable but not essential. The role requires a practical and organised approach, with the ability to support both staff and students in the effective use of creative resources.
