Your Role: Logistics Coordinator
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be at the heart of a dynamic and strategic environment. Our customers rely on individuals who can think ahead and adapt to rapidly changing situations while fostering a positive, team-oriented atmosphere. Position Responsibilities:
* Manage asset utilization and drivers to ensure top-notch customer service and fleet profitability.
* Assist, coach, and mentor drivers with training and administrative tasks.
* Build and match planned freight to day cabs or condo trucks and drivers.
* Review PTAs and driver requests for time off, scheduling work and assigning tasks.
* Coordinate with team members for awareness of driver, freight, and asset availability.
* Plan and dispatch trucks in coordination with Maintenance for optimal efficiency.
* Track drivers, loads, and receivers to ensure smooth dispatching operations.
* Maintain frequent contact with assigned drivers, addressing concerns and ensuring compliance.
* Handle urgent situations such as traffic or weather-related delays to ensure on-time delivery.
* Orient new drivers on communication and scheduling expectations.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work with office equipment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to hear and communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
* Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 25 pounds.
* Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
* Comfortable sitting at a desk for long periods and using computer equipment.
Education and Experience:
* College degree preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
* Prior logistics or planning experience is essential.
* Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus.
* Strong geographical knowledge and understanding of transportation regulations.
* High school diploma or GED required.
Working Environment:
* Ability to manage multiple assignments with frequent interruptions.
* Maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
* May require occasional travel by air or car.
