Safran Nacelles is a worldwide leader in aircraft engine nacelles. Our site in Burnley provides employment to almost 700 people. We design, manufacture, and service nacelles with a focus on reliability, efficiency and environmental responsibility.
What will I be doing?
* Lead and support the back shift, quantify team skills gaps and assist with team development. Collate reactive work orders from the core days team.
* Prioritise back shift planning to ensure machine availability for execution of planned preventive tasks aligned to a master schedule.
* Work in partnership with the department planner and manager to deliver an outstanding customer support service.
* Prepare handover documents for the core days team with clear and concise information.
* Provide hands-on support, analyse machine failures through data capture and historical events.
* Comply with site HSE behaviours and direction; implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Create & validate Standard Operating Procedures; provide expertise to key stakeholders and suppliers.
* Identify and escalate business risk to the day shift planner and department manager.
* Utilise knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes (CNC machinery, automation, controls, heat treatment, pressure/hydraulic systems; site services; PLC Siemens, Allen Bradley basic).
* Manage & lead a team of Reliability Engineers supporting back shift coverage; identify training and development needs with succession planning.
Qualifications & Experience
* Time served in mechanical maintenance.
* Expert knowledge of mechanical systems; ability to understand and analyse machinery failures, trends and drifts.
* Experience with problem-solving methods (FMEA, 8D, RCA, etc.) and TPM tools.
* Ability to control and maintain SAP CMMS; read and understand machine drawings, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
* Cross-functional skills: Agile, good communicator, leadership of cross-functional teams.
* Tools: SAP maintenance module, MS Office (advanced Excel), MS Project; up-to-date maintenance methodologies (TPM, RCM, CM, SPC); knowledge of quality tools (8D, FMECA); awareness of EN9100 requirements for maintenance.
* Ability to communicate clearly to business partners and management; capable of escalating issues timely; team player and ambassador for the company.
