The Property Cost Manager (Quantity Surveyor) will join the Property team responsible for acquisition, new build, refurbishment, and maintenance of our diverse property estate, including retail, manufacturing, and logistics sites.
The role focuses on improving our cost and value management capabilities through robust cost control and delivering best value outcomes from our investments.
This role is suitable for an Associate or Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step up.
It is a hybrid role, based in our Bradford office three days a week. Candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from Bradford.
As a Property Manager, your responsibilities include:
1. Pro-active cost reporting on capital and operational expenditure.
2. Providing commercial governance over project spend.
3. Developing life cycle cost models for future investments.
4. Maintaining benchmark data to identify cost improvements.
5. Collaborating with the Design & Standards team for cost-effective specifications.
6. Managing QS supplier partners and driving process improvements.
7. Leading procurement to secure the best suppliers and prices.
8. Developing and managing a high-performing supply chain.
9. Reporting on commercial metrics and KPIs for continuous improvement.
10. Working with the Directs team to procure fittings, furnishings, and equipment efficiently.
You should also have:
* Relevant construction or industry experience.
* A proven record in delivering new build and refurbishment projects.
* Knowledge of cost-effective specifications and industry innovations.
* Effective stakeholder management skills.
* Strong commercial acumen and financial awareness.
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Knowledge of JCT contract forms.
* Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (desirable).
