Moog Aircraft Group is seeking a full-time Senior Engineer to join our Product Development department at our Tewkesbury, UK facility.
The Product Development Engineering team manages new product development from initial concept to certification, focusing on mechanical hardware for aerospace applications, including military and commercial programs.
Our state-of-the-art facility offers advanced design and testing technologies, including software, high-performance computing, prototype manufacturing, and environmental testing. The role includes opportunities for training and development, with a hands-on approach to hardware development and testing.
Responsibilities include leading technical assignments, working on hydraulic components, guiding design evolution, planning projects, and occasional travel for customer presentations.
The role emphasizes component design, performance validation, and project planning, suitable for problem-solvers with diverse engineering skills.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
* Perform engineering tasks across product development processes (APQP).
* Translate customer specifications into compliance and test procedures.
* Support development testing to validate performance (static, fatigue, vibration, thermal, fluid dynamics).
* Write reports, present technical work, and communicate effectively.
* Apply problem-solving skills using 8D and DMAIC methods.
* Manage tasks within budget and schedule.
* Own technical problem-solving and review technical feasibility.
* Provide technical leadership and delegate tasks responsibly.
* Represent the company professionally, balancing technical and commercial considerations.
* Require eight or more years of relevant experience.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Mechanical engineering background.
* Investigation and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with Mathcad Prime, numerical analysis software, Siemens NX or similar CAD.
* Proficiency in MS Office, understanding of GD&T, aerospace materials, and manufacturing processes.
* Leadership qualities and experience mentoring junior engineers.
* Engineering degree is preferred but not mandatory.
* Security Clearance (BPSS) is required; inability to obtain may affect eligibility.
