Overview

Clinical Nurse Specialist/NMP CAMHS Looked After and Adoption - Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative clinician to work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist/NMP in the CAMHS Children Looked After and Adoption team. The role involves assessment and coordination of ongoing support for children and young people accepted from social workers, Adoption East Midlands and adoptive parents. Young people may refer themselves. Working closely with the team and network this role will ensure complex young people are offered the continuity and specialist care they require, balancing consultation, assessment and direct work within the role, whilst working closely with the MDT and in particular the Consultant psychiatrist.


Responsibilities

* Assess and coordinate ongoing support for children and young people up to 18 years old who are looked after or adopted.
* Provide consultation, assessment and direct work, with a clear pathway to undertaking NMP training and status.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including the Consultant psychiatrist.
* Promote and develop clinical excellence to enhance mental and emotional well-being using evidence-based practices with a trauma-informed approach.
* Offer specialist consultation and support to children and young people who have been adopted and their families; provide trauma-informed training to networks and direct work with young people to prevent placement breakdown and hospital stays.
* Support education and resources around trauma and attachment and their lasting impact on development.


Qualifications

* Registered nurse with eligibility for NMP training; willingness to undertake NMP training and balance this within the role.
* Experience or ability to work with looked-after and adopted children and families; CAMHS experience is desirable.
* Strong assessment, coordination and collaboration skills; ability to work with social care, Adoption East Midlands and other partners.
