Ensure governance and risk management, maintaining compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards. Your key relationships: Reports to : Commercial Director. Works closely with : The Supply Chain ‘hub’ (central team) and Technology ‘spoke’. Operations teams in Property & Investment and Customer Services. External suppliers to negotiate and manage contracts. Collaborates with : Corporate Services and other internal stakeholders to align procurement with strategic objectives. Your key targets: Delivers procurement outcomes that support a £900m annual buying pipeline. Improves supply chain performance through data-driven insights and continuous improvement. Supports financial efficiency by embedding category management and optimising supplier relationships. Enables compliance and assurance, contributing to robust governance and risk mitigation across the department. What you'll bring: Qualifications: Essential Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CIPS or equivalent). Advanced Practitioner status for the Procurement Act 2023. Relevant Work Experience: Essential: Substantial experience in procurement, supply chain management, or buying, particularly in operational delivery. Strong background in public sector procurement, including compliance with relevant regulations. Proven experience in contract and supplier relationship management. Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen in managing large-scale procurement pipelines. Desirable: Experience in the social housing sector. Familiarity with procurement technologies and systems. Key Skills: Strategic thinking and category management expertise. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to drive value for money, compliance, and continuous improvement. Skilled in risk management, data analysis, and performance reporting.
