Location: Kara Foodservices, Manchester. Shift: Rotating shift, 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts, Days and Nights. Salary: Competitive with Opportunity for Growth.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering team at our Kara site which is part of Finsbury Food Group.
Finsbury Food Group is a leading speciality bakery manufacturer. We constantly raise quality and efficiency standards, and build long-term relationships with major multiple retailers and the foodservice channel. Established in 1985, Kara offers a wide range of quality sweet and savoury bakery products, including both gourmet butter and vegan brioche buns, doughballs and teacakes. The Kara Bakery can bake over 1 million baps and burger buns every day.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership of site breakdowns and ensure quick diagnosis with corrective action.
* Actively use the CMMS system to provide detailed reports and maintain equipment records.
* Ensure Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are followed at all times, adhering to good working practices.
* Complete planned maintenance to a strict schedule and pursue improvements to improve equipment reliability and site efficiency targets.
* Participate in continuous improvement, identify opportunities to reduce site waste and maintenance spend.
* Assist in training fellow maintenance engineers, operator-technicians, and others where necessary.
* Engage in opportunities for learning and development and participate in project developments.
Qualifications
* Time served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 equivalent.
* Skills in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
* Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Experience in fault finding and maintenance in an industrial environment.
* 18th edition electrical certification.
* PLC programming capability.
* FMCG experience.
* Ability to mentor and coach other engineers.
* General IT skills.
* Previous food manufacturing experience would be beneficial.
