A specialist secondary school in Ellesmere Port is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join its team. Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students’ educational and emotional development. Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals, the Teaching Assistant will help foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of tailored lessons and targeted interventions.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students remain engaged and make progress.
* Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
* Help maintain a calm and structured classroom environment using effective de-escalation techniques.
* Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to staff.
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support each student’s holistic development.
* Participate in relevant training and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.

Person Specification
* Experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within SEMH, SEN, or alternative provision settings.
* Patience, resilience, and empathy, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both students and staff.
* Confidence in managing behaviour and supporting students with complex emotional needs.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
