The Unified Administrative Services (UAS) provides core administrative services to the University. The scope of the work carried out by UAS teams and sections is wide‑range and essential to the smooth running of the University. The UAS is a body under the supervision of the University Council and is led by the Registrary as the University's Principal Administrative Officer.
The Role
* Support the UAS Finance Business Partner team in a backfill capacity while members of the team are involved in the Enhanced Financial Transparency (EFT) project.
* Act as a financial expert intermediary between the UAS Departments and the central Finance Division, providing accurate and timely financial advice and management.
* Develop and actively participate in a network of departmental accounts staff to facilitate the development of sound financial processes and procedures.
* Provide account management support – monthly reports, analysis of data and variances.
* Monitor and review accounts, reviewing income and expenditure against targets.
* Implement and ensure that local procedures comply with the University's financial procedures.
* Encourage collaboration in the UAS, share best practice, develop consistent planning tools and train staff as required.
Your Skills
* Full or part‑qualified accountant or working towards a recognised qualification.
* Experience in a financial role within higher education or another complex organisation.
* Strong influencing and analytical skills with excellent communication using tact and diplomacy.
* Self‑motivated, proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Location
The University supports hybrid working, with some work undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The arrangement is subject to change and will not form part of the contractual terms of the role.
Fixed‑term: the funds for this post are available until 29 October 2027 in the first instance.
