Role Description

Wallands Community Primary and Nursery school is looking for someone to play a key role in the senior leadership team of the school. Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status and teaching experience across the primary range.
* Experience as a SENCO or in a leadership role within a specialist setting and hold a National Award for Special Educational Needs Co‑ordination (NASENCo) or the National Professional Qualification for Special Educational Needs Co‑ordinators (NPQSENCo).
* A genuine passion for inclusion and creating an environment where all pupils can thrive.
* Strong understanding of SEND legislation, EHCPs, leading on Annual Reviews and provision mapping.
* Proven ability to lead, manage and develop teaching assistants and staff.
* Experience working with parents, local authorities and external agencies.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Commitment to champion inclusion for all pupils.

Benefits

* A supportive team that places our values of kindness, resilience, cooperation, responsibility, aspiration and pride at the centre of all that we do, with a commitment to raising pupil achievement and aspirations.
* A well‑equipped school set in fantastic grounds, with a commitment to OPaL (Outdoor Play and Learning).
* Professional development and training opportunities.

Our last Ofsted inspection in September 2022 stated that, "this is a great place to learn. Leaders have high aspirations and hopes for pupils to achieve all they are capable of. They also care deeply about the well‑being of every child."

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self‑declaration form as part of the pre‑employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations. If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
