Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week (flexible)
Pay: £15.97
About the Role:
We are looking for a Psychology Research Assistant to support a project funded by Innovate UK: "Virtual Reality Intervention for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)".
You'll work with a research team led by Dr Débora Vasconcelos e Sá and Dr Jane Scott, helping to explore how Virtual Reality can be used to treat SAD. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical research and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Literature review
- Project management (setting up timelines and spreadsheets to track project process)
- Recruitment of participants, including liaising with NHS and other partners
- Attendance at regular research team meeting
- Preparing Qualtrics survey materials
- Meeting with participants to deliver and retrieve technology (VR headsets and light boxes)
- Conducting data analyses
- Preparing preliminary reports on analyses
- Supporting dissemination of research results to relevant stakeholders and academic communities
Requirements:
Essential
- Psychology degree
- Research assistant
- An Enhanced DBS check is required to carry out this role
- Excellent communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with patients, the research team and the clinical team
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proficiency with quantitative research methods
- Familiarity with statistics platforms (e.g. Jamovi, SPSS)
- Flexibility with regard to hours
Desirable
- Focus on clinical psychology in degree
- Experience coordinating clinical interventions or research projects
- Knowledge of qualitative research methods
- Driving licence and access to a car (highly desirable) Additional Information
Most work will take place on the ARU Cambridge campus. Some travel to clinics or participant homes may be required (travel costs reimbursed). Hours may increase from October 2025.
