Financial Accountant

Our client, a respected and growing Housing Association, is seeking a Financial Accountant to lead and develop their transactional and financial accounting functions. About the Role
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance and efficiency of the organisation’s financial operations. Working closely with internal teams and leading the transactional and payroll functions, you will help shape processes that support high-performance and effective financial stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare annual statutory accounts in line with regulatory requirements
* Collaborate with the Treasury team to produce accurate cash flow forecasts
* Oversee the payroll team, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
* Prepare and submit tax compliance and VAT returns
* Lead on the annual rent and service charge increase submission
* Ensure full maintenance and accuracy of Fixed Asset registers
* Support and develop the transactional finance team to ensure processes align with policies and best practice
Experience & Qualifications
* Fully Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Strong financial accounting and transactional finance experience
* Previous experience within the housing sector is essential
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
