About the role
As Rent & Service Charge Officer, you will be part of a collaborative Finance team, working closely with housing colleagues to ensure income processes run smoothly and residents receive a high‑quality service.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing rent payments and tenant charges accurately
Reconciling rental income and maintaining clear financial records
Supporting arrears monitoring and preparing income reports
Assisting with service charge calculations and cost apportionment
Helping produce estimated and year‑end service charge statements
Responding to rent and service charge queries from residents
Supporting audits and internal financial reporting
Working with colleagues to resolve account discrepanciesThis is a varied, hands‑on role offering exposure across rent accounting, income management and service charge support.
What we're looking for
You'll be well‑suited to this post if you have:
Experience in rent accounting, income management, housing finance or service charges
Confidence processing financial transactions and reconciling accounts
Experience supporting financial reporting or audits
Strong Excel and numerical skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
The ability to explain financial information clearly to non‑finance colleagues or residents
A collaborative, organised and solutions‑focused approachExperience in a housing or public‑sector environment is highly desirable, but not essential
