We’re currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join our UK Finance Control Team. In this role, you will be managing the team whose goal it is to maintain the financial integrity of the general ledger to allow for the efficient closure of the management accounts and year-end Financial Statements.
Your responsibilities in this role would be:
1. Managing a team of two, providing leadership, support, and development.
2. Preparing and analysing financial data to understand key performance drivers, ensuring accurate financial statement treatment.
3. Calculating key assumptions within your area of responsibility for both annual and interim reporting.
4. Producing clear and insightful reporting and commentary to support understanding of financial results.
5. Preparing departmental deliverables, such as management accounts packs, for review prior to external distribution.
6. Operating key financial controls within the Financial Control team, and maintaining accurate records for your assigned controls.
7. Ensuring accounting systems and processes are effectively managed and documented, including leading system upgrades and proposed changes.
We are looking for:
8. Educated to degree level in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent professional experience
9. Fully qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
10. Proven experience as a qualified accountant in a corporate finance environment, including journal preparation and account reconciliations
11. Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and business processes
12. Proficient in ERP systems and financial transactions
13. Competent Excel skills, with the ability to work confidently with spreadsheets and data in a finance environment
14. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and influence stakeholders effectively
15. Experienced people manager with a track record of leading and developing finance teams
