Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Carpenter to undertake heavy first-fix carpentry work on a new build residential development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural carpentry, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently within a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities * Carry out first-fix carpentry including: * Structural studwork and partition walls * Joists, trussed roofs, and structural timber installation * Staircase fitting, framing, and associated structural components * Window and door frame installation * Sub-flooring, decking, and sheathing * Interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications accurately. * Work alongside site management and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and timely project progression. * Use power tools and carpentry equipment safely and competently in line with site protocols. * Maintain high standards of workmanship while meeting project deadlines. * Adhere to all health & safety regulations and promote a safe working environment. * Assist in resolving on-site technical or structural challenges as needed. Requirements * Proven experience as a First-Fix Carpenter on residential new build projects. * Strong understanding of structural timber work and construction sequencing. * Competence in using a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment. * Ability to read and follow architectural and engineering drawings. * Own tools and PPE. * Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications * NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent). * Experience working on high end housing developments (preffered)
