Were supporting an established client based in Northampton who is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Sales Ledger Assistant to join their finance team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone with experience in finance who enjoys working with numbers, resolving queries, and contributing to the bigger picture.
The Role:
Youll be at the heart of the accounts receivable function allocating payments, keeping everything reconciled, and making sure customers get the support they need. Youll also play a key part in a business-wide banking transition, so if youre a confident communicator and not afraid to pick up the phone, this is an excellent opportunity to shine.
Day-to-day, youll be:
Allocating incoming payments each day and managing minor customer queries
Responding to daily emails anything from resending payment links to confirming bank details
Reconciling Direct Debits and maintaining accurate financial records
Following up with customers on overdue invoices and agreeing on payment terms if needed
Helping verify and update bank details as part of a company-wide transition
Completing vendor forms and ensuring everything is documented clearly and securely
The Person
Youll have previous finance experience this could be in credit control, accounts receivable, or similar
Youre proactive, calm under pressure, and able to juggle tasks without losing accuracy
You enjoy working at pace and are comfortable with volume-based work
Youre tech-savvy and confident using Excel or Google Sheets, along with finance software like NetSuite, Xero or Sage
Youre a great communicator whether over email or phone

Remuneration:
Salary £30,000 - £33,000 per annum depending on experience. (Pro-rata for the 6-month period)
37.5 hours per week Hybrid working offered after successful completion of training.
25 days' holiday plus statutory days. (Pro-rata)
