A unique independent luxury venue in Hertfordshire is recruiting a Floor Manager to join its fast‑paced Granary Kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a diverse hospitality business with multiple restaurants, events spaces, a hotel, and a strong focus on sustainability and guest experience.
The Floor Manager will play a key role in leading the front‑of‑house team, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations and delivering high standards of service. This role suits a hands‑on and motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys developing a team.
The Granary Kitchen is a casual, quick‑service dining space serving breakfast, lunch, coffees, and cakes, open 7 days a week. With most services finishing by 6 pm, this role offers a better work‑life balance with minimal late evenings.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the restaurant, ensuring excellent service standards at all times.
* Lead shifts, delegating tasks and supporting the team during busy service periods.
* Set and maintain high standards of efficient, fast‑paced service.
* Train, mentor, and develop team members to achieve consistent excellence.
* Work towards and support budgetary targets.
* Liaise closely with the kitchen team regarding menus, feedback, and bookings.
* Handle guest queries and resolve any issues professionally.
* Monitor rotas to ensure correct staffing levels.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the restaurant.
Key Requirements
* Previous experience in a hospitality management role within a fast‑paced environment.
* Strong leadership skills with a hands‑on approach.
* Ability to train and develop team members effectively.
* Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the business.
* High standards of presentation and professionalism.
* Willingness to work varied shifts across 5 days from 7.
