About the role:
Aviva is seeking an experienced and commercially astute corporate lawyer to join our Group Corporate Finance Legal team. This role offers the opportunity to operate at the heart of an FTSE 100 organisation, providing legal guidance that directly contributes to the successful delivery of Aviva’s strategic objectives.
This is a unique opportunity to engage with a broad and intellectually stimulating range of corporate legal matters in a supportive, collaborative environment that values thought leadership and integrity.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality legal advice on complex corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate venturing, capital management, banking, financing arrangements, corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
* Support broader strategic initiatives within a regulated financial services context.
* Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, external counsel, and advisers, offering pragmatic and commercially sensitive advice.
Skills and experience required:
* Substantial post-qualification experience in corporate law, ideally within a leading private practice or in-house at a regulated financial institution.
* High proficiency in corporate law and governance.
* Ability to apply legal expertise with sound commercial judgment and strategic awareness.
* Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication of complex issues.

* Competitive salary: Circa £110,000 (National), £125,000 (London), depending on experience.
