Job Title: Junior Sous Chef
Location: Hunstanton, Norfolk
Salary: £34,000 per annum
Tronc: £3,000 per annum
Hours: 4 days a week (option to work an extra day for an additional 20% pay)
Accommodation: Live-in provided
About Us:
We are a busy hotel restaurant in Hunstanton, serving high-quality seasonal cuisine to a diverse clientele. Our kitchen team values teamwork, professionalism, and creativity, and we are looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to support our Head Chef and Sous Chef in running a smooth and efficient kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
* Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard.
* Assist in supervising and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
* Help with menu preparation, costing, and seasonal specials.
* Maintain hygiene, health, and safety standards in the kitchen.
* Monitor stock levels, assist with deliveries, and reduce food waste.
* Ensure smooth service and support front-of-house staff when needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a restaurant or hotel setting.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Team-oriented, flexible, and enthusiastic about producing high-quality food.
* Some experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff is desirable.
