The role
Based at our Headington campus and reporting to the Admissions Operations Manager, the Senior Applicant Compliance Officer will be responsible for providing a high-quality customer focussed and efficient service in the issuing of CAS to International applicants and agents. The postholder will manage compliance with Student Route UKVI regulations and ensure the University's ongoing compliance.
About the team
This role sits in the Admissions Office, which plays a key role in the achievement of the University's objectives through the delivery of a fair and transparent admissions process that enables equitable access for those students with the potential to succeed at Oxford Brookes. The Admissions Office sits within the Directorate of Marketing, Engagement and Recruitment: a confident and ambitious team of colleagues who apply professional skills and expertise to make every contact count and to make a valued contribution to the University's objectives. You will have primary responsibility for managing a team of up to five Applicant Compliance Officers and will work with key internal stakeholder teams that include ISCT, ISAT and Oxford Brookes Global Recruitment.
What will I be doing?
You will be responsible for:
The management and delivery of customer-focused and efficient International Applicant CAS service.
Supporting the Head of Admissions to ensure the University's processes for issuing CAS are robust and fit for purpose.
Working with the Head of Admissions to oversee appropriate quality assurance processes in line with protocols and best practice.
Develop and maintain knowledge of a range of UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
Acting as a primary contact in Admissions in relation to the issuance of CAS.
Line management of a team of Applicant Compliance Officers and Advisers.
Using the student record system and the Home Office's Sponsor Management System to review applications, input decisions and issue CAS.
Work in line within the principles of a fair admissions process and support the University's student recruitment objectives.
What skills do I need?
Experience of applying UKVI regulations, including checking applicants' documentation to issue CAS or generate CAS communications.
The post holder will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately within systems and databases and/or CRM systems.
Experience of managing or supervising staff, as well as management of workload and tasks.
The ability to use professional knowledge to make more complex decisions is essential.
Experience of liaising with, and influencing, internal and external stakeholders and of delivering a high level of customer service.
About the location
Based at our Headington campus, you'll experience the vibrant campus atmosphere and benefit from our modern office environment. The campus is one mile from the centre of Oxford and is served by regular public transport. This role will be hybrid and we expect this role is likely to require 1-2 days on campus per week.
