SENDCo Needed!Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per yearContract: PermanentStart Date: April/MayLocation: SomersetNo teaching responsibilitiesReed Education are delighted to be working with a well-established independent special education provision in Somerset to recruit an experienced and qualified SENDCo.This specialist provision supports pupils aged 7-19, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require tailored, therapeutic educational approaches to meet complex needs. The school offers a nurturing, structured environment and is recognised for providing high-quality support to pupils with Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), and a range of additional learning needs.The provision operates across two sites in Somerset and is part of a wider education group known for its therapeutic, individualised learning environment and commitment to helping every pupil achieve their full potential. The school has a strong ethos around personalised support, positive behaviour, wellbeing, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.The RoleDue to growth within the provision, we are seeking an experienced and motivated SENDCo to lead and manage SEND provision across the school.As SENDCo, you will:Oversee SEND strategy and provision for a diverse cohort of pupils with complex needsWork closely with teachers, support staff, therapists, and senior leaders to ensure an inclusive, high-quality learning experienceLead on EHCP reviews, assessments, individual support plans, and external agency liaisonProvide guidance, coaching, and training to staff regarding best practice in SENDEnsure compliance with statutory SEND responsibilities and safeguarding requirementsSupport whole-school development in line with its therapeutic and child-centred ethosAbout YouTo be successful, you will need:NASENCo qualification (essential)Minimum 4 years' experience working within a similar special school, specialist provision, or SEN-focused unit (essential)Strong understanding of EHCP processes, SEND legislation, and multi-agency workingExperience supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, and complex learning needsExcellent communication, organisational, and leadership skillsA child-centred approach with a passion for transforming educational outcomesWhat the Provision OffersA therapeutic, specialist environment with a strong focus on individual needsSupportive senior leadership and multidisciplinary teamsOpportunities for continued professional developmentA collaborative, positive working cultureThe chance to make a meaningful impact within a growing provisionInterested?If you have the required experience and qualifications and are looking for your next step as a SENDCo, we would love to hear from you!Please note, successful applicants will undergo pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.Reed Education is deeply committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults.
