Overview
As a volunteer with the MSOIC Team, you will provide vital investigative and operational support to a small, specialised unit comprising one sergeant and two constables. Based in Woking but operating across the Surrey Force area, you will help enhance the team\'s capacity to provide services to the public and expedite investigations. You will volunteer collaboratively with internal departments and external partner agencies, and may also have the opportunity to support live operations. You will be asked to dedicate at least four hours a week to supporting investigations by undertaking the activities below.
Responsibilities
* Conduct enquiries and gather evidence
* Recover and store evidence appropriately for continuity and prosecution purposes
* Respond to queries relating to ongoing investigations
* Obtain witness statements
* Raise awareness of MSOIC at relevant events and operations
* Input information onto police systems and complete systems-based research
* Drive police vehicles (subject to eligibility and assessment)

Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous investigation experience (essential)
* Ideally knowledge of disclosure procedures and CPIA 1996
* Accreditation in investigation at PIP1 level (essential)
* Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
* Ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and liaise with partner agencies
* Clear and sensitive communication to support victims, witnesses and colleagues
* Familiarity with police systems and strong administrative capabilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Excellent organisational skills and interpersonal abilities for teamwork
* Full, clean UK driving licence and police driving assessment before being authorised to drive police vehicles
