Overview
General Maintenance Technician - Part Time (TS/SCI with Poly Required) opportunity with Fluor Corporation. This role supports a mission-critical facility in the UK, performing preventive and routine maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and light projects. The position is part-time with a flexible Monday–Friday dayshift, typically 24–32 hours per work week.
Responsibilities
* Apply safe work practices to all job functions.
* Participate in pre-job briefings on risk assessments, hazard mitigation, and planned work activities.
* Move materials using hand-trucks, carts, and manual pallet jacks.
* Install and modify modular furniture and cable management systems; install and relocate equipment racks.
* Install and modify raised flooring tile systems, modular carpet systems, acoustical ceiling tiles and grid.
* Perform basic carpentry tasks; patch, plaster, paint, and decorate walls.
* Clean work areas as required.
* Manage access control related to supervision and management of uncleared workers per site security policies.
* Perform Handy Man tasks including basic electrical and plumbing troubleshooting and replacement of components.
* Participate in snow removal activities using provided equipment.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
* Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in applicable field and two years of work-related experience, or six years if non-degreed; some locations may have different qualifications to meet local requirements.
* Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
* Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job; ability to learn applicable local, state/provincial, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
* Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-efficient manner.
Other Job Requirements
* Flexible team player with ability to operate with minimal supervision.
* Proficiency with hand tools and basic power tools.
* Ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or powered lift equipment.
* Ability to work in limited-access locations such as raised flooring systems and under desks.
* Ability to lift, carry, and position items such as furniture and building materials.
* Ability to learn and apply new skills; attend technical training as required.
* Strong attention to quality and detail; U.S. Citizen; TS/SCI with CI Polygraph or ability to obtain and maintain.
Preferred Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent; additional trade school education or certification preferred.
* Experience with basic hand tools and test equipment; ability to read building layouts, system drawings, and equipment specifications.
* Knowledge of standard and specialized maintenance practices; ability to read and write simple correspondence and present information effectively.
* Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra/geometry concepts.
