The client, a nationally respected building services consultancy, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in the Greater Southampton area. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects with a strong focus on decarbonisation and sustainability.
About the Role:The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects across a variety of sectors. Current and uing projects include:
1. Decarbonisation schemes for hospitals and public sector estates
2. New-build educational facilities
3. Healthcare infrastructure upgrades
This role is ideally suited to an Intermediate to Senior level Mechanical Engineer with a passion for sustainable design and a desire to work on technically challenging and meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
4. Design of mechanical systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, and ventilation
5. Production of detailed design drawings and specifications
6. Collaboration with electrical engineers and other disciplines
7. Site visits, surveys, and client meetings
8. Supporting junior engineers and contributing to technical development
Requirements:
9. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
10. Proven experience in mechanical design within a consultancy environment
11. Strong understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines
12. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES or similar
13. Excellentmunication and teamwork skills
