Project Design Engineer
Salary: Up to £50,500 per annum plus performance bonus and flexitime
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Project Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the cost-effective design, material procurement, instigation, control, and compilation of engineering documentation for various ongoing projects.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in creating cost-effective designs by integrating common parts and standardizing components.
* They will also produce General Arrangement drawings, Manufacturing drawings, and Technical Specifications.
* In addition, they will create 3D models for estimating weights, volumes, interferences, and determining complex geometry.
* The successful candidate will verify designs through calculations and/or FEA/CFD analysis under supervision.
The Project Design Engineer will work closely with the Sales team to prepare quotation drawings/documentation and assist in the development of new equipment/new product ranges.
They will also assist in creating standard 3D models and library parts, as well as supervising workshop personnel and/or sub-contractors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for organisation and preparation of all engineering documentation requirements and submission of required contract documentation to clients/third party.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A minimum GCSE Grade 5 (equivalent grade C) or higher in Maths & English.
* An HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification.
* Essential knowledge of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
* AutoCAD experience is essential.
* SolidWorks & 3D Modelling skills are required.
* Knowledge of manufacturing, welding, piping, and materials is essential.
* Experience of working within the Oil & Gas industry is preferred.
* Experience of fabricated & cast filters, strainers, and pressure vessels is required.
